Dyreparken presents Zookeeper Tycoon (Dyrepasserne)
Bringing a local Norwegian zoo and theme park into the metaverse with Unreal Engine and Fortnite
The Challenge: To bring the beloved Dyrepasserne brand into the metaverse by creating an engaging, two-pronged experience—combining a virtual zoo game in Fortnite and launching Morten and Carmen as virtual influencers to connect with both Norwegian and global audiences.
Our Solution:
Build A Game Inside Fortnite: We developed Dyrepassernes Rike, an immersive tycoon-style game where players build and manage their own zoo, unlocking habitats for animals like Capybaras, Lions, and Tigers. With over 100,000 players having already visited the virtual park and an average playtime of 35 minutes per player, the game offers rich, interactive gameplay where players care for animals, manage staff, and expand their park. The dynamic experience is designed to reflect the essence of Dyreparken, bringing the charm of Norway’s iconic zoo to the global Fortnite audience.
Develop Virtual Influencers - Morten & Carmen: Developed using Unreal Engine and motion capture technology, we launched Morten and Carmen as virtual influencers. These beloved characters have gained over 1 million views on Norwegian TikTok alone, engaging fans with creative content and behind-the-scenes looks at the virtual zoo. Their presence online serves as the heart of Dyreparken’s digital expansion, making them the face of Dyrepassernes Rike while also promoting the magic of the real-world zoo
Future Plans: Along with planned expansions like Skumle Dager in Fortnite, Morten and Carmen will continue to release exclusive content, introducing new wildlife habitats and evolving storylines in 2024.
